Superbly sited overlooking a waterhole, Elephant Rock is a charming boutique Safari Lodge offering luxury accommodation for up to 10 people.

Elephant Rock Private Safari Lodge boasts five well appointed luxurious suites, including two side by side chalets under one roof which we call the Family Unit. There is an interleading door and the chalets share a common veranda.
All other chalets are free standing and are well spaced for total privacy and include an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, private deck.
Chalet 3, tucked away at the end of the walkway is great chalet for a Romantic Getaway...
All chalets have great views to the Reserve, some with views to the private watering hole below the lodge and others of the indigenous bushveld.

Child Policy
Children of all ages welcome.
The family unit is ideal for families with 2 or 3 children. Ideally each chalet at the lodge sleeps 2 persons,
however we can accommodate an extra child in Chalet 3 or the Family unit.

Cancellation Policy
In the event of notification of cancellation, the following cancellation fee shall apply to the full booking.
* No refunds will be paid – Vouchers in lieu of cancelled accommodation will be issued for future use.
More than 30 days prior to arrival 10% cancellation fee
14 days to 30 days prior to arrival 50% cancellation fee
14 days of less – prior to arrival 100% cancellation fee

Directions from JOHANNESBURG:
Head for DURBAN on the N3.

Once you have entered KwaZulu Natal via Van Reenen,
look out for the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp and go through it. (pay R27.00)
This is at the bottom of Van Reenen's Pass.

Continue straight on R103 to Ladysmith

When you arrive in Ladysmith, drive straight through – you will be on the road called HARRISMITH STREET, (look out for the following landmarks on this road)
BP Petrol / Gas Station on the left, then Caltex Petrol / Gas station on the left,

At the 3 way intersection keep right till you get to the next set of traffic lights
(landmark: SHELL Petrol / Gas station on the right)

Go straight over at the traffic lights and turn left at the next 4 way stop,
You are now in LYELL STREET.

Travel straight down on this street till you exit the town.
(landmark: CALTEX Petrol / Gas Station and MAXI’S Restaurant on the left)

On the outskirts of Ladysmith you will find another set of traffic lights at a 4 way intersection – travel straight – in the direction of NEWCASTLE.

Distance from Caltex / Maxi’s to N11+D45 intersection = 10.9km

Continue for + - 10 km’s you will see the brown NAMBITI sign on the left as well as a small sign which reads D45.

Turn Right onto the D45 Road (sand road), follow for 10.3Km’s
At the T-Junction turn right, travel along side the Game fence for 2 km until you reach our gate and thatched guard –house

GPS reading at N11 / D45 = Lat S28 degrees, 29.29 and Long E29 degrees, 50.71
Road Directions ex Durban / Pmb to Nambiti Private Game Reserve:

Travel on the N3 through Mooi River Toll Gate (R32.00), past Escourt to Ladysmith (direction Harrismith / Johannesburg).

After Escourt; take the Bergville / Colenso R74 (R103) off-ramp / exit 194, turn right at the top of the off ramp and travel past Colenso towards Ladysmith / Newcastle.

Cross the bridge (Klip River [also known as First Wagon Bridge] into Ladysmith and continue following the directions for the N11 to Newcastle [look out for the following land marks: Marks Tyres on left, Game on left and Kentucky Fried Chicken on left].

At the traffic light intersection with the Caltex Petrol Station on the left – continue straight over the railway bridge and past TFS on the left and under another railway bridge.
At the next traffic lights continue straight (N11) towards Newcastle. Travel for 10kms and look out for the brown “Nambiti” sign on the left and a small sign reading “D45”. This sign is also on the left of the N11.

Turn Right onto the D45 Road (road), travel for 10,3kms; turn right at the Y-Junction (onto the D46) and travel for 2 km until you reach the entrance to Nambiti Private Game Reserve (Electric Gate and Thatched Gate-house).

Our gate guard will direct you to the undercover parking area where our ranger will meet you and transfer you to the lodge.

Please note that Cellphone reception in this area is erratic.
